The Japanese Box, also commonly known as the Japanese Buxus and Japonica Box Hedge, is a rounded shrub type of plant. It grows slowly and it has lovely leaves that are a dark green color, which only grow to about two centimeters long. This is what makes the Buxus a great choice for an exciting new hedge plant addition. It is usually used as a hedging plant. In fact, this is the common global use of the plant. It is also easy to shape if you are fond of hedge plant designs. When fully grown, which is about six to nine feet tall, the buxus will resemble a small tree with a long, oval shaped leaves with rounded tips. This species of plant is grown specifically for ornamental purposes, more often than not, and even though it is native to Japan, it will flourish in your garden almost effortlessly.
